![]() We leave forks onto the Klahanie Ridge Road which starts as pavement and turns to a classic logging road with steep pitches and potholes as it winds through the foothills of the Olympic Mountains cresting at 2500 ft. We start the ride through bucolic fields and forests on a quiet back road for 12 miles where we arrive at Forks, WA, a logging town made famous by werewolves and vampires in the Twilight novels. Experience the rugged beauty of the Olympic Peninsula as we begin this trip dipping our toes into the Pacific Ocean at Rialto Beach. We ride Across the Hood Canal Bridge with frequent sightings of seals and porpoises and arrive at the quaint little logging town of Port Gamble where our journey ends. We work our way through timber lands and our views change to the Cascade mountains and the Hood Canal as we close in on our destination. Day 3 is almost all gravel roads, we start with a climb into the Olympics then descend into Quilcene.
